1.00What is a standard price per square foot for a painting contractor on a estimate?
Q.Im trying to bid on commercial painting projects and I struggle with comming up with a price
A.Figure out how many days a job will take, then determine what you want to earn as a daily rate. Add the cost of materials, add 10%, and you have your price. Remember to take into account 2 coats of finish, which is specified for most commercial work. Also take into account depreciation on equipment, such as sprayers, texturing, as well as special tools needed fro some jobs, such as scaffolding. Hope this helps
1.00How do I obtain a journeyman ship in house painting and maitenence, I do not know where to begin?
Q.I have been painting houses and commercial buildings for 15 years, have a business license for my painting company, but just wondering how to obtain a journeyman ship
A.A journeyman designation is usually issued to someone who completes a formal union or similar apprenticeship and has x years of experience.

1.00How do Painters make a living in the winter?
Q.House and commercial painters that is. Can anybody give me tips on how to get painting jobs? and not just house painting but commercial too.
A.I don't know where your from but here in Pennsylvania we paint indoors when it's cold. The best way to get business is to talk to people , builders , do some charity work , that does generate business! , advertise in local papers , show up with a clean vehicle and decent appearance , if your equipment and yourself look slobbish your not getting any work. Drop cards at local housing complex offices , check with Realtors , put business cards up everywhere you see a bulletin board with others cards on. Good luck
1.00Anyone recommend a professional painting company in the Washington DC area?
Q.I'm looking to do a complete remodel for my business and need to hire a professional painting contractor to help with my 3 locations in DC, Virginia and Maryland. This is a large commercial project and I want a painting contractor that can not only handle the demands of my job but also design a paint maintenance program to keep my different locations touched-up and looking great. Any recommendations?
A.Check our Premiere Painting, professional painting contractors in Washington DC who also serve Maryland and Virginia.
http://www.premiere-painting.com
Premiere Painting helped me repaint my home interior and exterior and I also use them to help maintain my business. I own several apartment complexes and the team at Premiere Painting helped to design a paint maintenance program that keeps each one of my business locations looking great year round. They schedule maintenance and touch-ups at times that are convenient for me and my business - without Premiere Painting, I don't know how I would keep up with the demands of the upkeep. I highly recommend contacting Premiere Painting, professional painting contractors in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

1.00Is it possible to remove acrylic paint from canvas without damaging the rest of the painting?
Q.My husband is painting a picture for his parents for Christmas and has messed up a small part of the painting, He's tried painting over it, but can't get the right shade anymore. He's using acrylics. Is there a way to remove that small area of paint, without damaging the rest of the painting so that he can redo it?
A.I teach acrylic painting lessons and use this medium daily. Acrylic has a plastic blend and when it dries it's not coming off. Keep working on matching the colors where the problem area is. Just layer the colors little by little...be patient it will come together. I just finished a painting of a pair of beagles...the owner of the painting wanted me to change the color of the hair coat on one of the dogs. Which meant I had to basically start my layering all over from scratch. So I did this and worked on it for a few hours and it came together and the owner was happy with the results.
